Our Mission

Our mission is to create an international network and community of creatives and changemakers who want to support one another in work, wellness, rest, and joy through an African-centered lens.

Our recurring retreat across the continent will create the spaces for deep conversations and restoration to allow for connection between fellow retreaters to build their global network.

Those who share our values - community, wellness, sustainable lifestyle - and want to be a part of building our international network and legacy are encouraged to apply.

Our Founder, Michelle “Adjoa” Saahene

Michelle, also known as Adjoa, is a speaker, activist, and creator consultant. You may have seen her on Red Table Talk or read her interviews in Forbes and other well-known publications encouraging the public discourse on racial equity, belonging, and wellness.

Michelle’s viral actions inside a Philadelphia Starbucks in 2018 were the catalyst for her activism. It was her speaking out against the discrimination of two young Black entrepreneurs that led individuals and companies globally to seek her out for guidance on how to recognize their privilege and use it for progress. Over the last several years, Michelle has given dozens of keynotes, been on multiple news outlets, and coached thousands through content on social media.

The path of a creative can often feel isolating as Michelle has experienced firsthand, and she wanted to create the space for connection and community building across borders. Michelle created Legacy House for change makers of color to support one another in work and wellness.
